Eyelash Extensions are individual synthetic lashes that are curved to replicate a natural eyelash. They are applied with our medical grade adhesive to each one of your natural eyelashes. Our lash artists are trained in order to maximize your comfort and safety. You'll receive a specialized consultation with your lash artist, where they'll asses your natural lashes and talk more about your desired look and style.
Eyelash Extensions are perfect for all types of occasions; whether for a special event, work, or night on the town, your lashes will have you feeling stunning all day.
How long do eyelash extensions last and do I need fills?
An average set of eyelash extensions can last 4-6 weeks when properly applied and cared for. Everyone’s experience will differ based on day to day activities, we recommend a fill 2-3 weeks after completing your initial appointment. A fill is a shorter eyelash extension appointment where your lash artist will replace any extensions that have shed or fallen out, align all of your lashes, and ensure the longevity of existing extensions.
How to prepare for my appointment?
Lashes del Sol artists work on a tight schedule in order to bring beauty to as many women as possible. On the day of your appointment, preparation will allow for your artist to spend the maximum amount of time and attention on perfection your new eyelashes.
We ask the following from our valued customers:
•Please arrive 10 minutes before your appointment to check in. You will fill out a consent form and this will give you time to meet your lash artist and discuss any questions or concerns.
•Remove all makeup and mascara prior to your appointment. The slightest bit of mascara or eyeshadow will make the eyelash adhesive not bond well; resulting in your new set of eyelash extensions to not last as long as normal.
Can I use an eyelash curler or electric curler on my eyelash extensions?
We DO NOT recommend using mechanical eyelash curlers on your eyelash extensions, as these curlers will damage the extensions and possibly your own natural lashes. The electric curler is also not good a good option. The heat that it gives off in order to curl your natural lashes may warp the eyelash extensions.
Eyelash extensions already have a natural curl but if more of a curl is desired we have eyelash extensions with stronger curls; please talk with your lash artist about this and what would best fit your lashes to get your desired look.
How do I take care of my new eyelash extensions?
●Do not get lashes wet for the first 24-48 hours. Light mist is fine
●Avoid hot steam or sauna
●Avoid running water directly on your lashes
●Do not rub your eyes
●Only use water based mascara (optional)
●If applying mascara do so from middle to tip, avoid root area
●Use water based or oil-free eye makeup remover
●Do not perm your lashes
●Do not use a mechanical or electric eyelash curler
●Do not pull on your lashes (this may cause your natural lashes to come out prematurely and may cause bald spots)
DO LIE and say they are yours ;)
Can I wear eye makeup or put mascara on my eyelash extensions?
Yes, although you do have to take care that the eye makeup you're using is not oil or silicon based as this can break down the adhesive. Many cream eyeshadows, liners, and primers are not suited with eyelash extensions. We just ask that you take care to use eye makeup minimally, and when you do use eye makeup, be sure to clean them at night. We sell our Lashes del Sol Cleansing Brush to help with cleaning your lashes.
Even though mascara is not really required, since the extensions actually give the illusion of wearing mascara, it can be worn. It must however only be water based mascara. DO NOT USE OIL-BASED OR WATER-PROOF MASCARA. Waterproof mascara or any type of oil based mascara can dissolve the bonding agent and shorten the life of your eyelash extensions causing them to fall sooner. Care also needs to be taken in washing off the mascara. Only use a water based or oil-free eye makeup remover.
Lashes del Sol provides the Black Diamond Longer Life Coating & Sealant for Eyelash Extensions. This sealant forms a barrier to protect against the elements that break down the adhesive. This Blink Black Diamond not only gives the extensions a maximum bond but also gives them a beautiful, glossy coating. For best results, use this sealant daily to extend the life of your eyelash extensions.
Can I swim, shower, exercise, or visit a spa while wearing eyelash extensions?
Yes. The bonding agent we use is waterproof and allows you to shower, swim, exercise, etc. Special care is required but overall maintenance is low. We do NOT recommend however that you get your new lash extensions wet for 24 hours after the eyelash application as the bonding agent needs time to cure/dry completely. It is also not recommend to get them wet with salt water (ocean water) because this can also lead to de-bonding of adhesive. Limited touching of your eyelash extensions is advised; the oils from your skin can cause the adhesive to slowly dissolve and therefor make your extensions come off.
Available at Lash Studios also.
